Alea did a great job today at her volleyball games. They won one game and lost the second game. 

(I am loving my new glasses. I might start wearing glasses more often than contacts now.)

Glasses, glasses, glasses

I have been wanting to order some new glasses and I finally got it done this week. They had a sale that allowed me to get two pair of glasses for only about $10 more than one pair. I wear sunglasses all the time so I ordered a prescription pair too. The lady who helped me try them on this afternoon told me I was "glasses greedy". I had to bite my tongue that my "greediness" was helping her keep her job. Anyway...the two regular pair are generic brands and the sunglasses are Guess. The bottom pair are tinted a very light lavender on the front and have pink and purple/blue swirls on the sides. The second pair are solid red. 

Fancy Nancy

Last week they had Fancy Nancy meets a Super Hero day at school. 

The kids and staff could dress up as Fancy Nancy or a Super Hero.

Youth Center Volleyball

This morning Alea had her first two games of the season for youth center volleyball. They came close to winning both of them...but didn't. She is getting much better at the sport. She is one of the better players on the team. Go Huskies!!!

Hypochondriacs

I was complaining to Davin that my neck was hurting. He asked what I did. I said, "I don't know...maybe it's meningitis." He said, "It is not meningitis!!" Alea asked what is meningitis. I told her it was an illness that affects your back and neck. Davin said, "It is an illness that your mother does NOT have!" Alea asked if it was contagious. I told her it was. She said, "Well, then I probably have that." Davin said, "You and your mother are hypochondriacs!" Alea asked what that was. Davin told her it is when you say your back hurts, you neck hurts, your feet hurt, and everything else. She said, "Oh my goodness!!!! I TOTALLY HAVE THAT!!!"

Snow Day?

I know we just started back to school and work but I am ready for a snow day anytime God wants to bless us with one.

It's Girl Scout Cookie Time!

Tonight Alea and I went to the cookie kick-off party for our service unit. She starts selling tomorrow morning. Haley has turned over much of the cookie mom job to me this year since she is keeping busy with 5  kids. Cookie selling is a huge deal in Girl Scouts and will keep us busy until at least mid March. Wish us luck!

We have water!!

Thank God daily for fresh, running water to your homes. I am so glad I live in a land and time where the water comes to me and I don't have to go get it. My mom says she would have loved to have been a pioneer woman. No thanks! Too much work!

Our water is fixed and they didn't have to pull up the driveway or sidewalk so that is great news! We now have running water. Thank God for water!

Paying the Piper...aka plumber

Today was Davin's first day of work. When he came home he asked if any water was running in the house. I said no. He said the front yard was soggy in spots and there was water puddles going off of our property and into the street. Davin called the city and they turned off the water. Davin was kind enough to tell me what was going to happen so we have tubs, sinks, and pitchers filled with water. He also knows I have showering issues so I was able to get a quick shower in before the city got here to shut the water off. I have been only washing my hair in the morning, instead of twice a day, (thanks to Julie's suggestion) but I went ahead and washed it tonight and blow dried it so that it might look at least somewhat presentable tomorrow. When I went shopping after Christmas I bought an Old Navy baseball hat for $.97 that fits me very well, so if nothing else that will be my hair plan for tomorrow.

At least Alea and I are still on break so we don't have to get up and go anywhere tomorrow.

Some plumbers were able to come out tonight but they said they needed to dig up the front yard and that the problem might be under the driveway. Yikes!!! That sounds very messy and expensive!! Since it was getting late and dark they are going to come back tomorrow to look at it and see what they can find. I am worried about how much this is going to cost. Please pray it isn't too expensive.
