The Race Recap

I am pretty sure this will be my last post about The Color Run...I am guessing you are getting sick of hearing about it. I just thought I should talk about my performance in this race since I haven't done that yet.

When the race started Korienne, Haley, and I all started running together at the same pace (that is how we run all the time when we are together anyway). We all ran for about a half mile and I thought to myself, "I need to walk." As I took my first step to start walking Korienne said she needed to walk. I was so excited that I ran as far as Korienne did without stopping. Yea me! I was very proud of myself for this! From this point on we did a run/walk combo to complete the race. At each station everyone would slow down to get color thrown on them. I can see why the race wasn't timed. After my first race I was in so much pain for a week that I could barely walk. During the race on Saturday my left shin hurt for about a half of a mile and then it got better. I wore the same Nike shoes that I wore to the first race (because I didn't want my new running shoes to be ruined by the color) but my legs were so much better than they were when I started the first race. The extra rest days were very helpful for my healing. I finished this race in a good time for me (based on my Endomondo app).
