Comfort Food

The beginning of this school year has been kind of rough. It has not been the worst start to a year I've ever had but it isn't great either. I cried three times today and four times so far this year. :,(

I am glad I'm trying to lose weight right now because if I wasn't I would have gained 20 pounds in the past three weeks.

When I got home tonight Davin asked if we were going to go run (since when does he run??). I told him that if he would let me go to Outback and make a bad choice that I wouldn't make him workout with me. He said that two wrongs don't make a right, i.e., no exercise and cheese fries. I agreed and we decided to eat at home (make your own) and go out for a run. My goal tonight (since I my ankle is still sensitive since the race on Monday) was to run as much of 1 mile as I could. We left the house and walked a little over a quarter of a mile to a friend's subdivision to run. I started my GPS (Endomondo app) when I started running. I ran a quarter of a mile without stopping. My time wasn't great, but I was running!  YEA!! That was exciting. Davin wanted to start running too, but Alea was holding him back. She starts Girls on the Run next week so hopefully that will start her conditioning. We ended up leaving her sitting on the sidewalk on a street that hasn't been built on yet and we ran a ways up the road (probably about .12 of a mile) and  then ran back. I finished the mile at 16:57. At the race on Monday I had 15 minute miles for the first two miles. I can't walk fast by myself but Haley is able to make my speed up my walking when she sets the pace. My time would have been faster if I could have walked faster. I was happy with the amount that I ran though. I was really sweating though because we went out at 5:40 at is was 98 degrees. Hot!!

When we got home I had planned to have cereal because that would have kept me within my calories for the day. Turns out Davin drank the last of the milk so I ended up making a real breakfast. Not a good choice but breakfast is one of my comfort foods. Cheeseburgers and fries are my major comfort food though.

I didn't eat Outback, but I was over my calories with less than stellar food. At least I worked out a little bit.
