Potassium and the Dreadmill

Tonight after Girl Scouts we went out to dinner to finish off a day full of terrible eating choices. When we got home it was dark and raining so I decided to try out the dreadmill, i.e., treadmill. I have only been on the dreadmill a few times since I started walking again in July. It was not a great run/workout. My legs didn't hurt as much as when I run outside. I thought I would be faster on the treadmill but I was actually kind of slow.

I posted a picture of my treadmill after my workout. According to My Fitness Pal my treadmill is showing more calories than I am actually burning. Bummer. This picture shows how simplistic my treadmill is. It does the basics so that is all I need.


When I was looking at the breakdown of my food today I noticed (besides being 1,000 calories over my goal) that I had ZERO of my potassium today. I was suppose to have 3,500 mg and I had had 0! Yikes! No wonder my legs hurt!! I HAVE to do better. I looked up what had more potassium; Gatorade or orange juice. It turns out that orange juice has 350 mg for 6.5 ounces (according to My Fitness Pal). A banana has 450 mg of potassium (MFP). I really don't care for bananas very much so I'm glad O.J. has a lot of potassium too. 

I started wondering what foods are high in potassium so I asked my doctor (Google) and here what I found out.
